THIS IS A SHABBAT FRIENDLY TRIP!

Our first stop is the lost Jewish town of Susya (Khirbet Susya) with it’s ancient synagogue and underground caves, giving us a better glimpse of life 1500 years ago on the desert’s edge. The site rests on a contested plot of land (welcome to the holy land !) where everyone has their own narrative. We’ll aim to have a finer understanding of the complex situation in the area.

Next stop is Shokek Winery, located in the modern settlement of Susya, just down the road from the archeological site. We’ll taste some great wines and learn about thousands of years of winemaking in the southern hills of Judea. In order to understand the land, we must encounter it’s people. Finjan puts emphasis on these personal encounters.

Before heading back to Tel Aviv, we will stop at some different lookout points along the way to get a better geographical understanding and to sum up the day. Back before Shabbat!

* Please note: Entrance fee to Khirbet Susya archeological park is 19 NIS and IS NOT included in the price

TIME PERMITTING: Should the time allow us, we will meet with both Jewish farmers in the area and local Palestinians to better understand each narrative.

* Monitor the weather conditions and plan accordingly

REFUND, CANCELATION & TRIP-ADJUSTMENT POLICY

*** Full refund will be issued upon request up to 3 days prior to the departure time (hour) of the trip.

*** Full refund will be issued should the trip be cancelled or postponed for any reason at the discretion of the trek leader(s).

*** The trek leader(s) has the right to change the location of the trip prior to or throughout the trip based on weather conditions without issuing a refund to participants.

*** The trek leader(s) have full discretion in not allowing a participant to fulfil the trek based on certain health considerations and or lack of proper footwear/water.

*** Price includes two fully licensed guides and outdoor specialists, transportation to and from Tel Aviv, coffee and winetasting! Price does NOT include food and other beverages or entrance fees to Susya archeological park ***

Departure time is at 06:00 sharp from Tel Aviv Savidor Merkaz (Central Train Station/Arlozorov). If you want coffee and cookies, be there before 06:00  Return before Shabbat at appx. 15:30
