TRIP OVERVIEW

The Negev highland is at its best during winter!

On this hike we will explore the natural and human landscapes of this magnificent part of the desert.

Our hike will start on the olive groves of Kibbutz Sde Bokker, ascending for the black flint flat top peak of Mt. Zaror for panoramic views of the Zin valley, descending to the round pool of Zaror, and eventually all the way down to the Zin stream itself.

Hiking up through the Zin ascent, we will visit the ruins of the Zin fort, and learn about the ancient road going to Arabia, and the modern Katza pipeline built by Israeli and Iranian money. We will have a brake next to a statue built by Ezra Orion: an Israeli & Intergalactic artist, then continuing all the way to Ben Gurion’s tomb garden, on a scenic trail with breathtaking views of the white Zinnim cliffs.

Total hiking distance: 14KM intermediate level.

After the hike we will drive south to Adel’s camel farm. Adel is a well known camel tamer, prize winning camel rider, and a keeper of Bedouin folklore, and desert culture. We will finish the day with a sweet Bedouin tea at the rim of the Ramon crater, before heading back north.

  • Hikers who want to experience camel riding, can have a short ride at the rim of the crater for 25NIS (not included in the trip price)

Early sale tickets will be sold for 185 NIS in a limited quantity and then at a regular price of 205 NIS
