Meeting Time:06:15

Completion Time: 20:00

The ‘Zaki’ is a perfect day-hike during the August heat. We will hike through the tributaries of the northeastern side of the ‘Kinneret’ – Sea of Galilee – en route to closing out the 2016 summer, hiking season.

The day will begin with a visit to Umm el Kanatir, an ancient synagogue in the central Golan Heights that fell in the great earthquake of 749C.E. This synagogue is filled with a mysterious past about the ancient Jewish community that existed 1500 years ago in the hinterlands of the Golan (for a preview you can read Steve’s piece for Tower Magazine about Umm el Kanatir.)

After visiting Umm el Kanatir, we’ll head down for our hike through the Zaki where we will be hiking completely in water, fighting through the rocky stream!

The day is a perfect combination of history, human settlement and hiking between the Golan Heights and northern Galilee.

The cost of the trip is 169.50 NIS with the Early Discounted Tickets (limited quantity available) while standard tickets can be purchased for 189.50 NIS once the Early Discounted tickets have been sold-out. Space is limited and this is our final day-hike of the season!

Transportation, guide, coffee, cookies are included in the price. See you out there!
