2015-2016 took us from the granite peaks of Israel’s southernmost mountains in Eilat to the volcanic plateaus of the Golan Heights just a few hundred meters from Syria’s raging civil war.
Along the way, we trekked through the canyons and watering holes deep in the Negev and explored the captivating history surrounding the ancient Byzantine monasteries of the Judean Desert.
We took in some of the panoramic and hidden secrets of Jerusalem’s Old City rooftops and discovered the back alleys and unique past of Ramla, a city that for hundreds of years attracted more travellers than Jerusalem itself!
From the best Knafe in Nablus and the heat of the Jordan Valley to the rolling vineyards tucked away in the Judean Foothills, we definitely ate well and drank well, all while encountering a mosaic of faces and cultures of the inhabitants who make up this beautifully quirky land of ironies.
Most notably however, it was the people with whom we travelled who made 2015-1016 our finest season to date! We can only imagine what the 2016-2017 season will bring us…luckily for us, its already just around the corner.
So here is throwing back to Finjan’s incredible trekking and travel season. Special thanks and lots of love to Gabi Berger for documenting all of our trips. Check out more of her stuff on her FB page. https://www.facebook.com/gabibergerphotography/
