TRIP OVERVIEW

Join Finjan for a full day of hiking and adventure across the Ramon Crater (Makhtesh) to the famous Tooth of Ramon in Israel’s Negev Desert.

November is a wonderful month to be down in crater country and this full-day hike will include a number of local highlights such as the aforementioned Ramon Tooth, magmatic prisms, beautifully coloured sands and the rim-walls of the crater (makhtesh)

Hikers on the Israel National Trail always say that the Tooth of Ramon needs to be ‘pulled’ as it has provided trekkers with a unique challenge in ascending and descending this jagged, magmatic mountain on the edge of the crater.

Time permitting, we will also ascend the wall of the crater for more unique views on the rim of this magnificent geological masterpiece.  By the end of the day, travellers will come away with a more in depth understanding of this unique geographical region and the special geological phenomenon we in Israel call a makhtesh.

This is an ‘intermediate plus’ hike and is not suited for those with fear of heights. The hiking trail includes some steep ascents and descents.

Please note: this trip departs early (06:00) from Tel Aviv and will arrive back close to 20:30 and is a full day of hiking.

Early discounted tickets (limited quantity available) will be sold at 169.50 NIS
