Join Finjan for a unique 2-day camel trek in the heart of the Negev Desert. We will be lead by one of Israel’s most foremost desert experts and Bedouin guides.
For two days we will be accompanied by camels on our light-trek around the area of Mitzpe Ramon. Throughout our journey, we will be accompanied by our good friend Adel – one of Israel’s foremost experts on the Negev. These days are meant to gives us a deeper look at life deep in the desert and the history of Bedouin culture in the area.
There will be a special emphasis on the history of ancient agriculture in the area, medicinal plants used by the Bedouin communities and traditional Bedouin folklore
We will be accompanied by the camels throughout our trek with all logistics provided by our Bedouin friends. This includes three meals and a vehicle to transfer our gear so that participants can hike with just their day packs.
So how does it work?
Day 1 (June 26) – We will all meet in Mitzpe Ramon by 12:00 noon on Friday – participants can use public transport or their own vehicles to arrive. From there we will head to Adel’s camp (transfer with vehicles) and get ready to head out on our excursion.
Our evening will be spent under the stars and the quiet of the desert and will include a vegetarian dinner.
Day 2 (June 27) – The trek will continue in the morning after breakfast provided by Finjan and we will return to Adel’s camp for a vegetarian lunch to conclude our Negev camel trek. From here, participants will have free time to explore Mitzpe Ramon and the surrounding environs before public transportation resumes after Shabbat.
Total Cost:
Early bird special discounted tickets will be sold in limited quantities (first come first serve) for 700 NIS. Regular priced tickets will be sold for 780 NIS.

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS
* Participants are required to adhere to the latest regulations listed and in accordance with the Israeli Ministry of Health. Finjan will be operating this trip with the updated guidelines.
* Anyone showing symptoms of COVID19 in the days prior to the trip must take the responsibility NOT to join.
* This trip requires sturdy shoes (no flip flops) suited for hiking. Participants will remain off the trail should their footwear not be suited for the terrain.
* 5 Litres of water per person + hat + sunscreen
* Each participant is responsible for his or her own personal security and health.
REFUND, CANCELATION & TRIP-ADJUSTMENT POLICY
*** Included in the price of the ticket is a non-refundable deposit fee. This fee is 50 NIS
*** Full refund including deposit fee will be issued upon request no later than 7 days prior to the scheduled start time.
*** Partial refunds will be issued no later than 3 days prior to the trip (50 NIS fee not refunded)
*** No refunds will be issued within 72 hours of the scheduled trip
*** Should a participant request a refund within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time, a full refund can be specially issued if that ticket will be purchased by another participant or someone on the Finjan waiting list.
*** Full refund will be issued should the trip be cancelled or postponed for any reason at the discretion of the trek leader(s).
*** The trek leader(s) has the right to change the location of the trip prior to or throughout the trip based on weather conditions without issuing a refund to participants.
*** The trek leader(s) have full discretion in not allowing a participant to fulfil the trek based on certain health considerations and or lack of proper footwear/water.
*** Price includes two fully licensed guides and outdoor specialists, coffee and cookies! Price does NOT include Transportation.
Meeting time is 21:00 at the location provided in this event. Failure to show up on time will result in participants being left off the trip.
