The Jordan Valley is one of Israel’s most undiscovered areas and offers a short window for hiking throughout the year. January and February are the best time to hike through the canyons of the Jordan Valley while discovering some of the country’s most beautifully hidden natural secrets. We’ll be met with plenty of ladders to climb within the canyons!
We will boulder our way through the Talkid Valley and travel upon the plateaus of the north-central areas of the Jordan Valley, surrounded by beautiful views of Jordan, the West Bank and the Dead Sea transform.
The trip will take us through some of the most untouched natural areas where the desert and mountain merge together. Along the way, we will learn about the areas unique history and where it fits in the context of today’s changing geopolitics in the Holy Land and across the region.
To finish the day, we will have special visit to Moshav Tomer, an agricultural settlement established after Israel conquered the West Bank from Jordan in 1967. We will have a tour of the pepper and date farms and hear what its like to live in the area from a local farmer.
