Finjan is heading north to Israel’s eastern frontier with Jordan where the Sea of Galilee meets the Jordan River. Basalt canyons, picturesque landscapes, lush greenery and wildflowers and a special look at where Israel meets Jordan and Syria.
From the basalt canyon of Wadi el Jurem to the the Eilot Lookout and down to Yardenit via the Yavniel Valley, we are offering a full day of hiking on one of the country’s less travelled paths. This is a special region of the north that is unknown even to many locals.
This part of the eastern Lower Galilee gives a special look at the area’s volcanic past and the unique geology that helped shape human history in the area.
The hike will begin from the community of Menahemiya, ascending via Wadi el Jurem an on to the green pastures beneath Mitzpe Eilot with stunning views of the landscapes in the Jordan River Valley, Jordanian Gilad, Golan Heights and Sea of Galilee.
After making the the 500m ascent to Mitzpe Eilot, we will equally descend towards the Jordan River where we will finish the day with a swim (weather dependent).
