From there, we will ascend via the Soreq Stream towards the Cave of Samson, continuing to cover a total incline of 750 meters gradually throughout the day. After a challenging day, we will camp out in the area of Kibbutz Tzuba, one of Jerusalem’s highest hills to the west. Day 2 – April 3rd: Ascent to the Holy City! We will get an early start and make our way from the western hills towards the abandoned village of Lifta – just on the outer slopes of Jerusalem’s main entrance point. Total hiking: 20KM
How does it work?
You will hike with only a day pack which must have enough food and water for each day. The bus will meet us in the evening to drop off the rest of our gear and supplies for the evening. The following morning, the bus will take whatever we don’t need and meet us later that day at the Western Wall for the return trip back to Tel Aviv and Rehovot.
So what do you need?
PLEASE NOTE! (PLEASE!!!) – This is a challenging excursion and is best suited for those who have experience in hiking longer distances. There are a number of steep ascents and sharp descents throughout the two days. The night will be chilly in the mountains. Finjan will not carry your water or gear if it is too heavy for you!
If you are unsure of whether this is suitable for you – please talk to us!
Gear and food is not provided by Finjan – but we will provide some coffee and maybe some Arak in the evening!
