TRIP OVERVIEW

The East Ramon trail is a legendary trail that crosses the Israeli desert from the plateaus of the high Negev and down into the Arava Valley, passing through magnificent peaks, deep canyons and diverse landscapes.

We will have a logistics jeep carrying our gear, allowing us to hike with a light day packs during the trek.

TO COMPLETE THIS TREK YOU MUST BE ABLE TO HIKE 20+ KM PER DAY ON A CHALLENGING TERRAIN. THIS TREK IS NOT RECOMMENDED FOR BEGINERS.

TRIP PLAN:

Thursday 28th: Meet up at Mitzpe Ramon, camping outside of town.

Friday 29th: Loading our logistics car, a jeep ride to the trailhead in the Ramon crater, hiking the horseshoe gorge of Nekarot, ascending to the rugged Mt. Haririm, descending into the Maok valley, climb to the Amonite saddle, descending to the mighty canyon of Nekarot, camp at Holit campground.

Saturday 30th: Ascending to Mt. Yahav for a majestic viewpoint above the Negev, Ascend to the Zvira highland, visit the deep cracks inside the mountain, hike the black & white land of a collapsed ancient volcano, a final descent into the Arava valley and back to civilization. Finish the Trek at Moshav Sapir where public transport is available. Those who left a car in Mitzpe Ramon will have a ride back there.

Logistics

Meet up in Mitzpe Ramon on Thursday night (or possibly Friday morning if you are arriving by car)

Meet our logistics team and load the jeep at 7:00.

Drive to the trail starting point.

Meet our logistics team on the campground on Friday evening.

End of the trek on Saturday evening in Sapir (public transport is available from there)

Drive back to Mitzpe Ramon (for those who left their car there)

Terms And Conditions

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS

This trip requires sturdy shoes (no flip flops) suited for rocky terrain. Participants will remain off the trail should their footwear not be suited for the terrain. 

* 4 Litres of water per person + hat + sunscreen

* Each participant is responsible for his or her own personal security and health. 

REFUND, CANCELATION & TRIP-ADJUSTMENT POLICY

*** Included in the price of the ticket is a non-refundable deposit  fee. This fee is 50 NIS

*** Full refund including deposit fee will be issued upon request no later than 7 days prior to the scheduled start time.

*** Partial refunds will be issued no later than 3 days prior to the trip (50 NIS fee not refunded)

*** No refunds will be issued within 72 hours of the scheduled trip

*** Should a participant request a refund within 72 hours of the scheduled departure time, a full refund can be specially issued if that ticket will be purchased by another participant or someone on the Finjan waiting list.

*** Full refund will be issued should the trip be cancelled or postponed for any reason at the discretion of the trek leader(s).

*** The trek leader(s) has the right to change the location of the trip prior to or throughout the trip based on weather conditions without issuing a refund to participants.

*** The trek leader(s) have full discretion in not allowing a participant to fulfil the trek based on certain health considerations and or lack of proper footwear/water.

*** Price includes fully licensed guides and outdoor specialists, and lots of coffee! Price does NOT include food and other beverages
