Meeting Time:18:00
Completion Time: TBD
Each year, we try and escape the holiday crowds during Passover Week – this year, we will do it on foot for six straight days. You can join us for the entire time, or for a day along the way. This is all part of the Israel National Trail and perfect for the last week of April.
We will start on 25.4.2016 in the evening by arriving at the Wadi Oren Campground off Route 4 and finish on 30.4 at Yardenit on the Sea of Galilee. Along the way, we will pass through Nazareth, climb Mount Tavor, swim in the springs around Yavniel and catch the beautiful views from Mitzpe Eilot over the Sea of Galilee.
Instead of sitting in traffic for the holidays, it’s better to get back to the basics and walk to the land – get out for a hike, or five!
Day 1 (Monday 25.4.2016): Evening arrival at the Oren Campground off Route 4. Departure the following morning
Day 2 (Tuesday 26.4.2016): Crossing the Carmel Mountains via Usafiye, Nahal Yagur and on to the Zvulun Valley.
Day 3 (Wednesday 27.4.2016): The Oak Hills of the Lower Galilee and the Tzipori Stream.
Day 4 (Thursday 28.4.2016): Nazareth (including guided tour of the city + great food). Sleeping in Nazareth local hostels. Prior arrangements must be made by each individual regarding his or her room reservation.
Day 5 (Friday 29.4.2016): Mount Tabor, Mount Yona, Kfar Kish
Day 6 (Saturday 30.4.2016): LONG DAY! Mitzpe Eilot, Ramat Yanniel, Yardenit…back to Tel Aviv!
THE PROCEDURES, GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS FOR PARTICIPATING!
*** PLEASE NOTE, THERE IS NO REGISTRATION THROUGH THIS PAGE – ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS SEND US A MESSAGE OR POST BELOW IN THE COMMENTS!
Payment: This journey is a communal event. What does this mean? While no payment to Finjan is required to participate, guests are welcome to contribute for their time spent with us on the trail and using us as a resource to enjoy the holiday. There is no payment required whatsoever at the beginning; however, participants are welcome to contribute based on their experience at the end of the their time spent with Finjan.
Personal Expenses: Each participant is required to cover his or her own personal expenses, including food, transportation, lodging (when necessary either in a guesthouse or campground). Finjan is not responsible for any of the above expenses!
Food: Participants can bring whatever they would like as food whether ‘Kosher for Passover’ or not. The meal in Nazareth will definitely not be Kosher for Passover, but you can always buy groceries for yourself in town.
Transport: Arrival to meet us requires that participants joining along the way will meet us the night before. In the morning, we go as scheduled, not waiting for anyone! For those arriving from Tel Aviv to Nazareth (Day 4) – you may register for a shuttle from Abraham’s Hostel in Tel Aviv to Nazareth. We will have a signup link for this coming soon!
Difficulty Level: This trip is suited for people who can hike long days with a backpack unless you only join us for one day. Some of the days are longer than others (more than 25KM/day). The classification throughout the trip is ‘Intermediate’ – however, hikers should be familiar with the standard hiking conditions and what to bring along the way.
Safety: Each participant is responsible for his or her own safety. We are planning to hike for 5-days and see this as an opportunity for people to join wherever and whenever they like! Your personal safety is your responsibility!
