Experience the magic of the Golan Heights with a day of hiking, waterfalls and cherry picking at a local farming community. May in the Golan Heights is the perfect way to experience the magic of Israel’s volcanic past and the wonderful natural environment that has made this region Israel’s primary producer of cherry, mulberries, raspberries and apples!
Our day will begin with a lovely hike through the Jilabun Stream and waterfalls as we wend our way through the basalt canyons carved from Israel’s volcanic past, high up on the strategic plateau that is the country’s northeastern border and a strategic location bordering Syria.
After swimming and wending our way through the beautiful natural scenery that defines the local landscape, we will head to a local farming community to pick cherries, mulberries and other local treats! Participants will have the chance to bring back some of the country’s finest, locally sourced fruit.
This is an intermediate level hike that will take us into the early afternoon before finishing the day on the farm. Throughout the trip, participants will get a more in depth look at this sparsely populated yet naturally inspiring region on the northeastern frontier. We will learn about natural history, human settlement and the strategic importance of this basalt plateau. See you there!
